The article discusses current issues of the pedagogical heritage of V.A. Sukhomlinsky. In the conditions of the scientific and technical process and information technology, issues of education and training are becoming more and more relevant. In this matter, the study of Sukhomlinsky’s pedagogical heritage in the formation of students’ personalities has important theoretical and practical significance. Sukhomlinsky, unlike other teachers, inherited scientific works to young educators and teachers. In this regard, the study of pedagogical heritage in the training of teaching staff will yield positive results. After all, Sukhomlinsky’s works are mainly of a practical nature. He himself worked as a teacher and director of a secondary school and, summarizing his teaching experience, wrote the best pedagogical scientific works. In the context of globalization and market relations, social and moral values in society have changed. Young people are more interested in material values. Spiritual and moral values undergo great difficulties and undergo their significance and greatness in the eyes of the public. The accelerated pace of the scientific and technological process alienates the younger generation from spiritual and moral values. As a result, a new public perception of historical spiritual and moral values is being formed. It seems that today in society there is a need to more deeply master and study the pedagogical heritage of the classics, in particular V. Sukhomlinsky. Indeed, in his pedagogical heritage, Sukhomlinsky puts forward issues of citizenship, issues of educating a person in the spirit of work. Labor education occupies a leading place. And at the same time, Sukhomlinsky gives practical advice and recommendations to young teachers. He especially directs his opinion on the development of spiritual and moral values, on the issues of developing aesthetic education. In such scientific works: “The Birth of a Citizen”, “Letter to My Son”, “Conversation with a Young School Director”, “I Give My Heart to Children”, “How to Raise a Real Person” and many others, he preaches the high principles of humanism and spiritual and moral values. It seems that the study of Sukhomlinsky’s pedagogical heritage will give the desired results in the formation of the personality of students, especially in the training of teaching staff.
