THE IMAGE OF KOSHOY IN THE EPIC OF "MANAS" AS A SYMBOL OF PATRIOTISM AND WISDOM

Abstract

This article analyzes the image of Koshoy in the epic "Manas." It emphasizes that Koshoy had a significant influence on the development of Manas as a great hero and leader of the people. The study also examines how Koshoy, as a symbol of wisdom, foresight, and patriotism, serves as an example for the youth today, which is supported by an analysis of excerpts from the epic. It is noted that his eternal glory, passed down from generation to generation, is particularly highlighted in the legendary "Remembrance of Kokotoi," where he brought honor to the Kyrgyz people on the world stage, becoming a symbol of patriotism and honor. Additionally, the article points out that the image of Koshoy should be revealed to the youth from another perspective: after three continuous days and nights of struggle against the giant Joloi, he emerged victorious, but generously distributed all the acquired wealth among the common people. The article further analyzes that Koshoy did not merely distribute riches; he directed it towards aiding orphans, the underprivileged, and widows.
