The article discusses the current level of use of the Ai-Urkor calendar, widely known in Kyrgyz ethnography. Since the 90s of the last century, when our people gained independence, efforts have been intensified to grow and develop our national culture. Our previously forgotten holidays, such as Nooruz and Orozo Ait, have become widespread. The names of months and days also began to be used in the Kyrgyz language. Samples of the national calendar printed in the Kyrgyz language were distributed to schools. However, these calendars soon began to lose their relevance due to the lack of historical and scientific information that fully explains the meaning of the Kyrgyz names of the months. Further research is needed to solve this problem, as previous attempts have not yielded good results.
