Abstract

This article discusses the influence of pedagogical ideas about the education of L.N. Tolstoy on the views of modern students studying in the direction of training Pedagogical education (with two training profiles). The ideas of the great writer about free education and his experience of teaching at the Yasnaya Polyana school are comprehended from the standpoint of today. The study of the views of L.N. Tolstoy helps students to realize how in modern practice the knowledge that they receive when studying the discipline "The Phenomenon of Educational Activity" at the Elabuga Institute of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University can be useful to them. The University has a wealth of experience in training future teachers, which can be taken into account by other educational institutions. Modern educational practice provides food for the analysis of the demand for the historical experience of past generations.
