Abstract

The scientific article examines the formation and development of preschool children's ability to navigate in space, which is the main concept in mathematical education in the general context of improving the quality of preschool mathematical education. The research emphasized that children develop skills to distinguish parts of their own body, which will be fundamental to understanding space and spatial relationships, and methods of teaching a child spatial orientation in relation to his body at each age were considered. Various techniques of correct orientation in the environment from oneself, other people, and other objects were shown and various types of didactic games on this subject were proposed. It also showed the theatrical use of literary works describing the spatial relationships of characters, that is, the use of children's literature in order to deepen the skills of determining spatial relationships. The next important area is to teach children of all age groups to navigate on the plane and in space. At the same time, the training in orientation on the plane and in space was divided into 4 stages. Various exercises and didactic games are offered. For the children of the preparatory group, several independent classes were offered in order to deepen the skills of orientation on the plane and in space. A method of teaching children spatial orientation using artificial intelligence has also been developed.
