TEACHING ENGLISH TO STUDENTS TROUGH STORIES

This article presents the results of a study on the use of stories in teaching English as a foreign language to the students of the 9th grade. The study was conducted during the approved pedagogical practice at the Chair of Teaching Methodology of English Languages, Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Osh State University. The purpose of the research was initiated for scientific investigation. The research process included lesson planning, data collection, and analysis, and allowed students to choose stories based on their interests and preferences as part of the "Let's Learn English" project. As a result, future teachers (practitioners) learned various classroom exercises through new methods, including communicative and project-based learning, physical games (Total Physical Response, TPR), and the Natural Approach. The study found that the students' motivation to understand fairy tales and stories increased.
