CIVIC AND FREEDOM-LOVING MOTIVES IN THE POET'S WORK

Abstract

This article examines current issues of citizenship in the work of M. Lermontov. The poet's merit lies in the fact that as a writer he correctly identified the purpose of art. He believed that literature should educate a person in the spirit of high social ideals, views, feelings, opinions, positions - it would give a new impetus to solving important social issues of society. Therefore, Lermontov's creative path sought to recreate in his works a high social and moral ideal. The theme and task of the poem is to create an image of a strong, brave and freedom—loving man, a young man who aspires to freedom, to his homeland from an alien church environment, in particular, a monastic environment. The core of the Poem is the thought, the idea of fighting for the freedom of every young person. A life without a struggle, a bird without wings. Only struggle gives a person strength and power in shaping his personality.
