SOME ASPECTS OF THE RESETTLEMENT POLICY OF THE TSARIST GOVERNMENT IN THE FERGHANA VALLEY

Abstract

It is known that the conquest of Ferghana by tsarism was caused by the political, socio-economic interests of Russia and the development of capitalist relations in the country. In this regard, it became necessary to unite the regions of the outskirts with the empire. For this, it was planned to Russify the national outskirts. Its main tool was the resettlement policy. The land crisis in the central regions of Russia and the need for raw materials accelerated the relocation policy. The tsarist government tried to solve the problem of peasants who lost their land in the central regions by resettling them on the territory of Turkestan. Peasant settlers were to become the basis of the colonial policy of the tsarist government in Turkestan and carry out Russification. In connection with these, the resettlement policy in the Fergana Valley was carried out in the 1890s until 1917. The article attempts to reveal some aspects of the implementation of the policy of royal power in the Ferghana Valley during the colonial period. The goals, objectives and differences of the resettlement policy are shown.
