Abstract

This article explores in detail the interrelation between the development of fine motor skills and the formation of speech in children, based on Maria Montessori’s pedagogical system. The study demonstrates that finger movements, hand coordination, and sensory experiences directly influence brain activity, particularly the development of speech centers. Nowadays, due to the frequent use of various gadgets, cases of delayed speech development among children are becoming increasingly common, which highlights a major issue. The Montessori method, built on the child’s natural needs and inner potential, considers hands-on activity as a fundamental means of learning, thinking, and language acquisition. The article provides examples of Montessori exercises and materials—such as frames, buttons, beads, grains, and sand—which effectively stimulate speech and enhance intellectual development. Special attention is given to the adaptation of Montessori principles in Kyrgyz early childhood education and the importance of cooperation between parents and teachers. In conclusion, systematic development of fine motor skills is identified as a key factor for forming a child’s linguistic, intellectual, and social competencies.
