THE CONCEPT OF STEM EDUCATION AND ITS IMPLEMENTATION IN THE 12-YEAR SCHOOL CURRICULUM

The article analyzes the essence of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education concept and ways of its implementation in the 12-year school curriculum. STEM education is an innovative approach aimed at developing students' creative, analytical and practical skills through the integration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects. Based on the experience of the United States, the place of the STEM concept in the education system, teacher training and the effectiveness of integrated teaching are studied. The study analyzes the possibilities of integrating STEM in each stage of the new 6+3+3 structure. The foundation is laid by developing functional and information literacy in primary school, and the development of scientific and technological competencies in secondary and high schools is demonstrated through profile teaching, project work and the use of innovative technologies. The article presents the importance of STEM education in the 12-year education system and practical ways of its implementation.
