Abstract

Currently, the problem of forming academic writing skills in students in universities is emerging. A student studying for a profession must present a clear, logically connected idea in a scientific environment. For this, knowledge, skills, and abilities in analyzing and writing academic texts must be formed.

The purpose of the study in the article is to analyze the structure of academic texts and determine the effectiveness of methodological methods used in the formation of writing skills.

The results of the study were obtained on the basis of the experimental method. Specifically, the methodological methods used in the formation of students' knowledge, skills, and abilities in academic writing can give the following results:

  1. Gaining knowledge of the academic text and determining its features;
  2. Determining the idea and structural structure of the text:

- identifying the sentences in the introductory section and the idea they express;

- the ability to use evidence in the main part, to assess their consistency and logic;

- the construction of sentences in paragraphs and the identification of ideas presented in them;

- the ability to draw conclusions;

- orientation in writing an academic text.

In conclusion, the methodological methods used in one lesson can allow students to carry out activities in a scientific direction. Skills are formed by continuing work in this direction in subsequent lessons.
