This article examines the relevance of training computer science teachers in the context of the transition to a 12-year education system. The modernization of education in Kyrgyzstan and the processes of digital transformation have increased the demand for computer science specialists. The subject of computer science plays a crucial role in developing students’ digital literacy, algorithmic and logical thinking skills. However, the current situation reveals insufficient practical components in teacher preparation and a decline in interest in the specialization. The article analyzes the role of the computer science teacher in the new context, the need to update educational content, and approaches to developing students’ digital competencies. The findings suggest that modular learning, which combines theory and practice, as well as the integration of STEM elements, significantly enhances the effectiveness of training computer science teachers.
