Abstract

This article considers the importance of teaching ILLUSTRATIONS in the development of the speech of primary school students. ILLUSTRATIONS, as a type of folk oral works, are an important didactic tool in language learning. They help to expand the child’s vocabulary, teach correct, accurate and fluent speech. The article discusses the didactic and educational functions of ILLUSTRATIONS, methods of using them in the classroom, and their impact on the student’s linguistic development. In addition, practical examples of the use of idioms in the Kyrgyz language, literature and educational activities are given. The study notes that idioms are effective in developing students' logical thinking, attention skills and creative abilities. As a result, it is emphasized that the active use of idioms in primary education is one of the effective methods for developing a child's speech.
