9-11. DETERMINING FACTORS AFFECTING THE PROFESSIONAL PREFERENCES OF CLASS STUDENTS*

Abstract

The aim of the study was determined as determining the factors affecting the career choices of 9-11th grade students. In order to achieve the determined research purpose, descriptive research model from qualitative research methods was used. The study group consisted of a total of 45 students, including 9th, 10th and 11th grade high school students living in the Narın province of Kyrgyzstan. Semi-Structured Interview Form from qualitative research method was used to collect data in the study. In this interview form, firstly Turkish draft form was prepared together with the thesis advisor and after receiving expert opinion, the questions in the form were finalized. It was translated into Kyrgyz for application. The interview form translated into Kyrgyz was checked by field experts. The interview form used in the study consisted of two parts: personal information form and semi-structured interview form which is among the interview types. Personal information form includes descriptive questions about gender, class and family income status of the students participating in the interview. While collecting data, information about the research was given to the participants and the participants’ approval was obtained. In the analysis of the data obtained as a result of the research, the content analysis method from the qualitative analysis technique was used. As a result of the research; the factors that affected the career choices of the 9th-11th grade students are as follows: The majority of the students were affected by the research they did on the internet. Later, it was concluded that they were affected by their family members, the people around them, because it was their own will and they were not affected by others, their friends, the teacher at school, the high salary of the profession they chose, the new technologies they saw in their environment, the events in the society and the movies they watched.
